The Role

We are looking for someone to join our display team as Programmatic Trader with Paid Social experience and to take a leading role in the development of the agency’s integrated search and display proposition.

You will be part of a team of Programmatic Traders, working across a number of retail and clients to deliver programmatic display campaigns. You will report into the Regional Lead APAC - Display. Programmatic Traders are responsible for maximizing our advertisers digital budgets according to their required goals. In more simple words, media traders will be responsible for defining / creating digital RTB strategies, implementing this in demand side platforms (various sophisticated technologies are used) and wisely spending a pre-determined budget - all to ensure client digital goals are reached & that they see a full return on digital investment. You will need to understand how to buy inventory via the technologies at what price and what inventory / audiences / programmatic strategies will be successful of a campaign. This position is one of the few around South Africa and will be a major step in your online career

The emphasis of the role is very much on taking ownership of the end to end delivery of display campaigns, owning the campaign set up and execution, and running the team to ensure the service and the results exceed the client’s expectations. You will support the Regional Lead in analysing performance, generating insights and working with the search teams to deliver a rich and integrated service to our clients.

You will take a leading role in devising and planning the account strategy, working with the Regional Lead to develop the client roadmap, identifying new opportunities and media planning to grow your accounts.

We manage by outcomes which gives every individual the freedom to exercise their entrepreneurial talent and to take responsibility for the outcomes of their work.

In addition to encouraging your team’s development, we want you to continue to develop and learn with us. That will comprise assessing new DSP and adserving technology, third party data providers and viewability and fraud technologies. PMPs, native advertising, video and mobile advertising networks will also be part of the mix as you will be given autonomy to work with the wider team to develop and refine the agency’s approach to integrated search and display.

Qualification & Skills

  • Agency side experience as an RTB, Programmatic or Display Optimisation Trader.
  • A thorough understanding of the display space, including traditional reservation buys and RTB.
  • Experience of running programmatic campaigns, developing strategies, optimising for performance, and developing and reporting back insights to clients
  • Expertise in DSP and adserving technologies, preferably DoubleClick Campaign Manager and DoubleClick Bid Manager
  • Have extensive experience in managing performance Paid Social campaigns
  • Comfortable working with data to drive insights and recommendations
  • Excellent team and client management, and organisational and interpersonal skills
